Inclusion and SEND

At Trinity academy, we believe in creating inclusive environments that aim to meet the needs of all students. We want to ensure that our Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) provision offers appropriate support for those facing barriers to their learning and we take every reasonable step to identify and meet them.

We provide support within all four broad areas of SEND: 

  • Cognition and learning
  • Communication and interaction
  • Sensory and physical
  • Social, emotional and mental health

Your child may have special educational needs (SEN) if they find learning more challenging than others and need extra support to achieve their full potential.

External Agency Partnerships

Trinity Academy works with a range of professionals to support all its students. These include Speech and Language Therapists, School Counsellors, Educational Psychologists, Social Workers and a range of other SEND specialists. We frequently meet with practitioners from statutory, community and voluntary groups to ensure that our SEND services meet the diverse needs of our student population.

FAQs

How will the school decide what type of support my child receives? 

Every child’s needs are different, and these may change over time.

We will try our best to match the support we offer to the needs of your child. We do this by making regular assessments of their strengths and difficulties. We will then put some support in place and see if that support helps them make progress in school. We will involve parents in all discussions about what's working and what isn’t and refine our support based on that.

How do I know if my child needs SEND support?

If your child is not making expected progress for their year group, they may need SEND support. We will discuss your child’s needs with you before placing your child on SEND support.

What if I think my child needs further support?

Please contact SEND@trinity.futureacademies.org if you have any concerns. We will review the support we have in place. If we are doing all we can, but still feel that we aren’t meeting all of your child’s needs, we may recommend carrying out an EHC needs assessment.
